Refined Castor Oil – First Special Grade (FSG) / British Standard Specifications (BSS)

Refined Castor Oil (RCO) – FSG/BSS Grade is a high-purity castor oil produced by refining Commercial Grade Castor Oil (CCO), which is extracted by expeller-pressing steam-cooked castor seeds. The refining process involves bleaching and filtration, effectively reducing color, Free Fatty Acids (F.F.A.), and moisture content. This results in a light-colored, low-acidity, high-quality castor oil suitable for a wide range of industrial and pharmaceutical applications.

Refined Castor Oil (FSG/BSS) is a vital raw material used in the manufacturing of castor oil derivatives and other value-added products across multiple sectors.

Key Applications:

  • Used as a base ingredient in pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations.
  • Functions as a lubricant coating for vitamin and mineral tablets.
  • Acts as a key agent for petroleum oil-field de-emulsification.
  • Combined with styrene and diisocyanates to produce film-forming varnishes or infusible polymers.
  • Used as a capacitor impregnating fluid.
  • Functions as a sonar transducer fluid.
  • Serves as a dielectric medium in electrical condensers.
  • Widely utilized in the paint and coatings industry.
